ROLL THE DICE with Chicago’s FLUORESCENTS - April Tour Dates
March 22, 2024I can’t help but get hyped whenever I scroll through TikTok or Spotify and hear Sasquel (Vocals/Guitar) sing “I think I’m having a moment, another momentary lapse of serotonin” - I end up reverting back to being an early 20-something year-old jumping in a pit with a bunch of sweaty, enthusiastic fans. The Chicago-based band is steamrolling through East-coast in April, and the Midwest in May and June – to play to their melodic, uptempo 2010’s influenced catalog of music with a modern flair of the 2020’s. If you’re like me, you’re immediately elated to see that they announced a solid run of shows throughout April, May and June. New York City and Chicago have already sold out quickly but these fellas will see Philadelphia fans at the Rusty Nail Tavern in Ardmore, PA on April 24th. Tickets are currently on sale here.
They have a new single out called “Better Off” released on January 25, 2024 and you can listen to it here. If you’re a fan of nostalgia and missing those days of getting sweaty on a concrete parking lot in the heat of the summer. You’re in a for a treat with this single. It has all of the classic pop punk us Elder Emos have come to love but with a touch of something new. Plus this time around, many of us can just find a spot in the balcony to sit and rock out to. Or if you’re going to stretch and get limber beforehand, you can throw down in the pit. The recovery time for me is so much longer, my late 30’s body can not recover as quickly anymore. I need more lidocaine patches, liquid IV and naps in blackout curtains more these days. Whatever you fancy, Fluorescents will surely be that music therapy you need. Come out to Ardmore (it’s a short drive from Center City Philly) and jam with the kismet + co crew.
