SEOLLAL x CLOAK COLLECTION
YEAR OF THE DRAGON
Much like the Vietnamese and Chinese traditions centered around the Lunar New Year. Seollal (one of the biggest national holidays in Korea) is a time where people come together as family and friends to celebrate Lunar New Year.
Seollal falls on the first day of the new lunar calendar; lasts three days and is celebrated much like the Vietnamese holiday of Tết. On the day of Seollal, people perform ancestral rites, pay their respects to their elders, and exchange well-wishing remarks. There is a ceremonial serving to ancestors called Charye and is commonly practice in a Sadang (traditional shrine.)

There was an immediate gasp and reach for the wallet as soon as I saw the CLOAK drop for the Year of the Dragon. And I am so glad that Markiplier had thought to design and create such a beautiful drop. As someone who celebrated Tết for the first time without the head of household; my father. Who in some ways was our family's dragon and always protecting us from everything that came our path. So we knew we had to grab a couple of things from the drop. Because why not?! It also inspired us to create a collection that is close to home for our parent brand launch this coming summer.
(ON MEG) Seollal Brushed Dragon Tee SLVR
I tend to like my tee's on a slightly loose fit so I size up and get a large shirt. Because a lot of Cloak shirts are gender neutral - we tend to just order large shirts so we both can wear them whenever the mood strikes. (With their Alice in Wonderland drop, we've worn out the Mad Hatter and Cheshire shirts so much that we may as well retire them completely.) The shirt itself is a nice quality and is pretty sturdy. It has a little red fabric on the bottom hem with the Seollal symbol all over it. Most notably it also has puffed paint on the front of the shirt and screen printed on the back. For $34 a shirt, this one is definitely worth it. ***** (5 out of 5 stars)
These two items are no longer for sale, but there are limited items (olive green and black and a black hoodie) on the CLOAK website.
(ON JOE) Seollal Blue Dragon Cordless Hoodie
The hoodie itself is thick yet soft with the inner lining being quite smooth. The cordless hoodie is a definite game changer as it makes it easier on someone with overstimulation and ADHD nerves gone haywire. This is also in a size large as my wife and I do share our Cloak clothing. Everything I own from this brand gets rave compliments and even the DEADSPACE joggers are super comfortable making feel like you aren't wearing any pants. But you are. Every part of the design element in this drop is married perfectly in the hoodie and coupled with the beauty that are Sakura trees. It makes for a picture perfect moment. For $82 this hoodie comes with a long-term commitment to stay in your life for the long run.
